In case you missed it, Mastodon has an optional Tweetdeck-style multi-column interface which you can use on a computer or tablet in horizontal mode. Here's how to activate and use it:

@FediTips Showed up? He's been there a long time, I think. In fact, it is the most sane option for the desktop web-interface. But pinning several columns at once is not a good idea. I like the 2-column mode (+ post writing column): the left one opens the feed, and the right one opens notifications or the thread view. It's very convenient both for reading and replying, when everything is in front of your eyes at the same time.
