Musk's letter announcing the takeover begins like this:

"I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy."

...he wants to turn Twitter into what he calls a "free speech" platform. This doesn't sound good at all, considering his track record on what he considers free speech.
