Hello book fans and people who enjoy reading!
In case you missed it, the Fediverse has an alternative to Amazon's Goodreads called BookWyrm. You can find out more at:
https://fedi.tips/bookwyrm-a-social-network-for-people-who-enjoy-reading
You can import your existing book data into BookWyrm from Goodreads, LibraryThing, StoryGraph, OpenLibrary or Calibre:
The official BookWyrm website is at:
and you can follow the official project account at @bookwyrm
Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe @bookwyrm can help?
@FediTips @chris_mcswain @bookwyrm Since bookwyrm does not have the same access to book info as Goodreads has, some books lack information. If the ISBN of the book imported correctly, you might find the information on https://openlibrary.org or other publicly available book sites for covers and descriptions. If the book is not on there, you can manually add it after importing. This mostly happens for books not already imported by others.
@FediTips @bookwyrm oh! And remember, bookwyrm is federated. You dont need to join the flagship instance! Join a smaller instance instead .
Anyways, bookwyrm is a fantastic way to log books and socialise around books! Go try it, and ask around for help, either at the official bookwyrm account or us over at .world. We are happy to help users not from our instance aswell
