#introduction Hi everyone. My main interest is #Astrophysics, which I worked on until I retired recently. Also #music, especially #hippy, but I don't despise any of it.
I'm just bouncing off Twitter, things are getting unbearable there. I haven't looked around here much yet. Can anyone tell me if there's anything on the free web that invites optimism in such bad times? @FediTips

I think some optimism is that places like the Fediverse are owned by the people who use it. User-owned networks are run for the users, and have the chance to provide an alternative to the ever-more-extremist corporate social networks.
