Excellent public transport video maker RM Transit now has a PeerTube account You can follow at the address below:
UPDATE: It seems they've finished uploading their previous videos now, so you can follow them without worrying about flooding your timelines
If you just want to browse all the videos without following, you can do so at this link:
p.s. Bit of an update, RM Transit have uploaded about 200 videos at time of writing, I think they still have about 400 more videos to transfer over. So, guessing the transfer should be finished in a few days?
@FediVideo @reece This is great news! I used to watch a lot of RM Transit videos (back when I was spending more time watching video) and this is one of the more insightful transit channels around (plus it has cool pictures of trains).
@FediVideo OMG, wow. I am following @RM_Transit a lot on YouTube. He kinda made me crazy about public transit stuff.
However, be warned that they are currently uploading a massive number of videos so your timeline may get a bit swamped while they do this!
That's a great opportunity for me to binge his older content.
@FediVideo @reece I also found @ohtheurbanity.
Are they the original channel on YouTube? I see all the uploaded videos of them are a week old (as in the upload age, didn't check the video age).
They are the same person as the channel on YouTube, yes.
They have just last week uploaded all their YouTube videos to PeerTube so they may all look like they're a week old, but they are covering a period of several years.
If you look at the "originally published" date for each video on PeerTube you will see when it was originally made.
As new videos are added in the future, the upload ages will start to vary.
@FediVideo Yeah, I noticed that feature on Reece's videos but I wanted to have an extra confirmation from you fantastic, thanks a lot!
It's always great when I discover I can replace another platform which can be replaced with the Fediverse, even partly first it was Facebook, then Reddit, now YouTube.
If you're viewing the videos on PeerTube you can also sort videos by original publication date instead of upload date. There's a dropdown box for it in the top right corner of video lists.
