Your audience doesn't have to be on PeerTube themselves. They can follow and interact with PeerTube from within Mastodon etc, and they can even follow PeerTube from podcasting apps such as Apple Podcasts.

I’ve wanted to get off YouTube for years now, but I’ve struggled with finding a suitable alternative. I haven’t found any potential hosts that would allow enough space for how much content I make, and the pricing and setting up to make my own would be too much. I genuinely want to, but don’t know how to make it work
