If you're interested in trying the Fediverse's social reading platform BookWyrm, there is an official list of servers you can sign up on at:
https://joinbookwyrm.com/instances
If you've never heard of BookWyrm, it's an alternative to Amazon's Goodreads. You can find out more about it at:
https://fedi.tips/bookwyrm-a-social-network-for-people-who-enjoy-reading
Book information is provided by @wikidata and @inventaire and you can import your existing book data from LibraryThing, StoryGraph, OpenLibrary and Calibre.
Thanks !
Unfortunately, I have heard that Bookwyrm development is on pause.
Any better info on that ?
( I am there on Bookwyrm: @fresseng@bw.heraut.eu )
I haven't heard that? Where did you see it?
Just checked the Github and the lead developer's latest commit was 11 hours ago:
https://github.com/bookwyrm-social/bookwyrm/commits?author=mouse-reeve
Before that there were a bunch of commits 4 days ago.
I'm not a developer so I may be misinterpreting this, but it seems active?
@fresseng @FediTips I'd like to be positive, but having followed things a little, I can confirm that things have been slowing down for several months now. The person in charge of the project doesn't have enough time to devote to it, and there's a lot of work in progress. But that's not a reproach... I'm very grateful to the developers, just an observation.
