Hey there
If you have any questions about how to use Mastodon or the rest of the Fediverse, it is totally fine to ask! I'm an actual human being here, and I'll try to help answer any questions if I can!
I didn't set up this account to be one-directional or mass audience, it's meant to be about helping people directly.
I haven't seen Bonfire operating in the wild, but my understanding is that Bonfire will optionally allow people to store their data locally on home hardware, while the actual instance they are part of operates remotely.
They have an About page at https://bonfirenetworks.org/about/ but it doesn't really seem to explain what Bonfire actually is?
@FediTips @ganbold bonfire seems to be a development framework. But they also created apps around it like bonfire classic. https://bonfirenetworks.org/app/classic/
@FediTips @ganbold you're welcome. Their libraries seems all be written in a programming language called Elixir.
Like their utils repo https://github.com/bonfire-networks/bonfire_common and their social repo https://github.com/bonfire-networks/bonfire_social.
Elixir runs on erlangs vm. It's a dynamic and functional language. I recommend watching: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JvBT4XBdoUE
